Exams and certificates in Zurich

The fide test measures how well you can use German in everyday life in Switzerland. It assesses your ability to communicate in typical everyday situations. The test consists of an oral section (speaking and listening) and a written section (reading and writing). Both sections can be taken together or separately. Registration deadline: three weeks before the exam date.
To help you prepare effectively, we also offer a training course for the fide test. On this course, you will familiarise yourself with the exam procedure and practise using sample tests.

The telc exams are internationally recognised language certificates based on the CEFR standard. They are suitable for professional purposes, further education and personal goals. A telc certificate provides official proof of your German language skills. ECAP Zurich is an official exam provider. Registration deadline: Five weeks before the exam date.

The KDE is the official German language test for the naturalisation process in the Canton of Zurich. The test assesses listening, reading, writing and speaking skills. For naturalisation, German language proficiency at level A2 in writing and level B1 in speaking is required. Registration deadline: one week before the exam date.

The CELI certificates (Certificati di conoscenza della lingua italiana) certify your proficiency in Italian at levels A2 to C2. They are suitable for professional and academic purposes.

ECAP Zurich is an ICDL test centre. The ICDL exams (International Certification of Digital Literacy) prove your digital skills – an important requirement in many professions and in everyday life.
