Sector-specific German in Bern

In our sector-specific German courses, you will develop your language skills in a targeted manner for your everyday working life.

You will gain a better understanding of work instructions and work schedules, be able to write simple work reports, and take part in internal and external training courses. At the same time, you will expand your job-specific vocabulary and improve your communication with your superiors, clients and colleagues.

The courses are run on behalf of the joint committees or the Unia trade union. Courses are currently offered in the construction, cleaning and catering sectors. Where required, courses can also be developed and organised for other sectors.

The group placement test is obligatory for new registrations.

Our courses

You work in service or in the kitchen and will learn to communicate more confidently and professionally with guests and colleagues. You will expand and consolidate the vocabulary that is important for working in the kitchen and service. The course takes place on Monday evenings from 6.00 pm to 8.30 pm in Bern.

You work in the construction or building finishes sector and will use this German course to improve your daily language skills and practical abilities. At the same time, you will expand your vocabulary on construction-related topics. The course takes place on Saturdays from 8.30 am to 12.00 pm in Bern or Biel.

You work in the cleaning industry and are taking a German course to improve your language and communication skills for your daily work. You will also expand your vocabulary on work-related topics. The course takes place on Saturdays from 8.30 am to 12.00 pm in Bern.
