Goals
The fide test allows for the oral and written verification of language skills in German, French, and Italian. It was developed on behalf of the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) specifically for everyday life in Switzerland. Oral and written skills are assessed separately; in the oral part, participants are also permitted to speak Swiss German. The levels achieved (A1, A2, or B1) can be demonstrated with the language passport for job applications, naturalization, or for a residence or settlement permit.
Procedure
After registration, you will receive the official invitation letter with the exact time approximately 14 days before the date. Examination times are binding.
The oral part is conducted with two licensed examiners. The written part takes place with a maximum of 12 participants at the same time.
Approximately 4 weeks after the examination, you will receive the language passport, which certifies your language proficiency, directly from the fide office. The fide test can be repeated as a whole or individually (oral/written) as often as desired. The participation fee is charged anew each time.
