Oral exam (speaking and understanding)
Written exam (reading and writing)
Goals
With the fide test, you can demonstrate your oral and written language skills at levels A1, A2 and B1 according to the CEFR.
Procedure
4 weeks after the exam, you will receive the language passport directly from the fide Bern office, which certifies your language skills, provided your correspondence address is correct. Over Christmas/New Year, you will receive the language passport approx. 6 weeks after the exam. The fide test is recognised by the Confederation and the cantons as proof of language competence. You can repeat or update the fide test as often as you like if you have reached a higher language level.
Do you already have a recognised certificate or language skills at B1 level or higher and can you provide evidence of this? Then you have the option of obtaining a language passport with the entry B1 (oral and written) via the B1 validation dossier.
Further information:
At www.fide-info.ch you will find a mock test as well as the regulations for participating in the fide test.
