The fide test consists of two parts:

→ Oral part (speaking and understanding)
→ Written part (reading and writing)

When registering, you choose which parts you would like to take.
Goals
With the fide test, specifically developed for Swiss everyday life, language skills in German can be proven orally and in writing at levels A1, A2, and B1 according to the CEFR.
Procedure
After registration, you will receive the official invitation letter with the exact time. The examination times are binding.

Oral and written skills are tested separately; in the oral part, participants are also allowed to speak Swiss German.

You will receive the language passport and the test results directly by mail approximately 4 weeks after the test.
ECAP and the fide office cannot provide any information regarding results over the phone.
Costs
Complete test (oral and written):
→ CHF 250.00 per test

Oral test only (speaking and understanding):

Further Information

All persons aged 16 and over who wish to prove their language proficiency in the national language, German.

People with disabilities can also take the fide test. Special rules apply to them, which are agreed upon together with the testing institution and the fide office.

Upon successful completion of the entire examination, you will receive a certificate.
