Course information

Contents
The German lessons are thematically based on the participants’ learning needs and promote the four language skills. They focus on everyday topics and provide information about life in Switzerland and in the region. German language support includes building and expanding vocabulary, basic grammar, listening and reading comprehension, dialogues, and writing short texts. At all course levels, the focus is on oral language acquisition (understanding/speaking). However, as language proficiency increases, written expression and correct language use also become more important. In addition, basic skills in everyday mathematics, ICT and learning techniques are taught.
Goals
Development and promotion of German language skills in the four language skills of listening comprehension, reading, speaking and writing, including integration-relevant topics and preparation for entering the world of work and education.

After 3 course modules, a CEFR level is completed and a fide exam can be taken.
Procedure
Once you have registered, you will be contacted by the ECAP Winterthur secretariat to clarify any open questions.
Costs
CHF 1,475.-
Childcare CHF 1,400.- per child.

Further Information

Adults and, where applicable, young people aged 16 and over who have not been living in Switzerland for long, are familiar with the Latin alphabet, but have no or only limited knowledge of German.

The courses are organised with childcare for children up to kindergarten entry.

Participants must be willing to learn independently outside the course as well, in order to support the learning process.

German language support is based on the fields of action and scenario-based teaching according to fide and on the needs of the participants, taking their own resources into account. A coursebook serves as a guide.

Before registration, a free placement test is offered on-site so that the person can be assigned to the appropriate course.

At the end of the course, all participants receive a certificate of attendance if they have attended regularly (at least 80%). Depending on their language level, they may also take a fide language certificate or a telc exam.

The room will be communicated to you via SMS.
