Course information

Contents
German lessons are thematically based on the learning needs of the participants and promote the four language skills. The course focuses on topics relevant to everyday life and provides information about living in Switzerland and the region. German language support includes the development and expansion of vocabulary, the basics of grammar, listening and reading comprehension, dialogues, and the writing of short texts. At all course levels, the focus is on oral language acquisition (understanding/speaking). However, as the language level increases, written expression and correct language use also gain importance. In addition, basic skills in everyday mathematics, ICT, and learning techniques are taught.
Goals
Development and promotion of German language skills in the four linguistic competencies: listening comprehension, reading, speaking, and writing, including integration-relevant topics and preparation for entering the world of work or education.

After 3 course modules, a CEFR level is completed and a fide test can be taken.
Procedure
Once you have registered, you will be contacted by the ECAP Winterthur secretariat to clarify any outstanding questions.
Costs
CHF 1,475.
Childcare CHF 1,400 per child.

Further Information

Adults and, if applicable, young people aged 16 and over who have not lived in Switzerland for long, are familiar with the Latin alphabet, but have no or only limited knowledge of German.

The courses are organized with childcare for children until they enter kindergarten.

Participants must be willing to learn independently outside of the course to support the learning process.

German language support is based on the fields of action and scenario-based teaching according to fide and on the needs of the participants, incorporating their own resources. A teaching aid serves as a guide.

Before registration, a free placement test is offered on-site so that the person can be assigned to the appropriate course.

All participants receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the course if they have attended regularly (at least 80%). Depending on the language level, a fide language certificate or a telc exam can also be taken.

The room will be communicated to you via SMS.
