Goals
The fide test allows for the oral and written demonstration of language skills in German, French, and Italian. It was developed on behalf of the State Secretariat for Migration SEM specifically for everyday life in Switzerland. Oral and written skills are tested separately; in the oral part, participants may also speak Swiss German. The levels achieved (A1, A2, or B1) can be presented with the language passport when looking for work, for naturalization, or for a residence or settlement permit.
Procedure
After registration, you will receive the official invitation letter with the exact time approximately 14 days before the date. The examination times are binding.
The oral part is conducted with two licensed examiners. The written part takes place with a maximum of 12 participants at the same time.
Approximately 4 weeks after the exam, you will receive the language passport, which certifies your language competence, directly from the fide office. The fide test can be repeated as a whole or individually (oral/written) as often as desired. The participation fee will be charged each time.
