Procedure
Following the basic levels Alpha 1, Alpha 2, and Alpha 3, we offer post-literacy courses that allow students to complete the entire CEFR A1 level. Newly alphabetized participants can attend the follow-up courses A1.1 post-alpha, A1.2 post-alpha, and A1.3 post-alpha.
Costs
CHF 91.00 - 910.00 for private payers
The course fees depend on the place of residence. Participants residing in Basel-Stadt or Baselland receive a tuition reduction.

Free for newcomers with a voucher from the Canton of Basel-Stadt.

People
- who cannot read or write at all or only with great difficulty,
- who have learned to read and write in a different script and do not know the Latin alphabet.

With regular course attendance (at least 80%), you will receive a course certificate.

Childcare:
Open during afternoon courses for children from 18 months to 7 years. Cost: CHF 160.00 to 400.00 per child, depending on place of residence and age. CHF 800.00 to 1,304.00 for institutions. Places are limited.

Online until 2026-09-18, in person until 2026-09-25. After these dates, registration may still be possible if spots are available. Please schedule an appointment for in-person registration and placement.

Withdrawal of registration is possible free of charge up to 7 days before the start of the course. After that, we charge an administrative fee of CHF 50.00. Cancellations must be made in writing.

In the event of withdrawal during the first 7 days, one quarter of the course fees must be paid in addition to the administrative fee. From the second week of the course, the full course fees must be paid. If the reasons for withdrawal lie with ECAP, participants will not incur any costs.
