fide Test

The test tasks are at levels A1 - B1 and refer to various everyday situations in Switzerland (for example at the workplace, in the family, at the doctor's office or at municipal offices.)

Assess knowledge of the Italian language and obtain the fide Language Passport valid for residence permits and naturalization.

The fide test consists of the "Speaking and Listening" part (duration 40 minutes) followed by the "Reading and Writing" part (approximately 60 minutes). Both parts are conducted individually. It is possible to take only one part of the exam.
Approximately 4 weeks after taking the test you will receive the results and the language passport directly by mail.
For tests taking place between mid-December and mid-January, it may take up to six weeks (instead of four) for the language passport to be issued. The examination center and the fide Secretariat cannot provide
any information about the results by telephone.
