Exams and certificates in Aargau

Whether it’s a telc exam or a fide test: at ECAP Aargau, you can sit German exams and obtain official certification of your language skills.

A certificate will help you in your job search and is often a prerequisite for a residence permit or naturalisation. For a residence permit, German language skills at least at A2 level are required (telc or fide test). The requirements for naturalisation differ depending on the canton.

The fide test was developed by the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) and is recognised throughout Switzerland.
ECAP Aargau is an accredited examination centre for the fide test and runs it in German, the national language, at levels A1 to B1. The speaking and listening section can be taken at a different level to the reading and writing section. The results for both sections are reported separately. After the test, you will receive the Swiss Language Passport, which certifies your language skills.

ECAP Aargau offers telc exams at various levels. The telc certificates are internationally recognised and confirm your knowledge of German for work, education or official purposes.
