Basic skills in Basel

In the basics training modules, you will develop key basic skills such as reading, writing, speaking and using a computer.

These modules are the perfect complement to the German courses held in the mornings and will help you in your everyday life and at work.
Course fees depend on where you live and your income. We would be happy to advise you in person.

Basics modules

We’ll help you develop clear and distinct pronunciation. Through a varied mix of texts, songs and dialogues, you’ll practise articulation, rhythm and stress step by step. In doing so, you’ll improve your listening comprehension.

In this course, you will practise job application techniques and expand your vocabulary for your applications. You will draw up a CV and write application letters, whilst learning how to interpret job advertisements correctly. You will practise realistic telephone and face-to-face job interviews.

You will improve your reading and writing skills for daily life and work. You will learn to understand individual words, sentences and short texts. Depending on your level, you will be able to easily grasp important everyday information such as timetables, opening hours or simple news items. You will be able to write short, clear texts and fill in forms.

You will improve your written communication skills to meet the increasing demands of the workplace and everyday life. The course is specifically designed to prepare you for the written components of your language exam. You will learn how to write emails, letters and work reports in a clear and structured manner.

In this course, you will practise your oral communication skills by discussing socially relevant topics or everyday issues. You will expand your vocabulary, learn to argument and express your views.

You will acquire practical basic digital skills that will help you in both your private life and your career. You will learn and develop your ability to use digital devices and use email programmes, apps and web browsers safely. At the same time, you will learn the relevant vocabulary and acquire the basic skills required for computer-assisted German lessons.
