Our projects

ECAP is continuously involved in numerous projects that enable migrants to participate in life in Switzerland. An important issue is the promotion of equality between women and men. An overview of the most important projects:

The aim of the educational offer is to prepare adolescents and young adults for entry into the regular upper secondary level, vocational preparation year or pre-apprenticeship integration, by building, developing and consolidating their skills in the following subject areas according to Curriculum 21: language - general culture - mathematics - media and computer science. Here you will find more information!

MinQ draws attention to the concepts of migration - integration - qualification and is a mentoring programme for qualified migrants. The project introduces a target-group-specific mentoring as a supplement and further development of the existing World Wide Women's education program. The mentoring program is offered in Basel and Zurich. Here you will find more information.

In the Orienta project, funded by the Swiss Federal Office for Gender Equality, ECAP has developed teaching materials on gender equality for migrants. Orienta aims to ensure that the immigrant population in German-speaking Switzerland actively deals with gender equality and that immigrant women are better embedded in the Swiss economy and society.  The teaching units offer an access to the topic of gender-specific differences in Switzerland and the participants' country of origin. They enable a discussion within the group and a discussion of one's own position. Here you will find more information.

In a two-year training course, migrant women in the catering, hotel and cleaning sectors acquire specialist knowledge, language skills and general knowledge, which they can prove in a final examination to obtain a recognised certificate. ECAP Vaud and ECAP Berne run the courses in cooperation with the trade union UNIA. Here you will find more information

ict@migrants is an branch-specific programme for the integration and/or entry of qualified migrant women who, despite higher education, find it difficult to find an adequate job in Switzerland in the ICT sector. The project is financially supported by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, Seco, as part of the «Initiative on qualified personnel». Here you will find more information

«Sprechen Sie Deutsch?» («Do you speak German?») includes courses for the linguistic integration of migrant women with childcare service, which are carried out on behalf of the Social Department of the City of Zurich. Here you will find more information.

The Italian Reading and Writing Association of Italian Switzerland is an association for the fight against illiteracy. It was founded on the initiative of ECAP Ticino UNIA, Soccorso Operaio Svizzero and private individuals. Here you will find more information.
